A WEEKEND AT FULL THROTTLE

The Elegance of the Monaco Grand Prix

MONACO GRAND PRIX 2025
May 23—25, 2025

Every spring, Monaco becomes something else entirely. Streets turn to circuit. Terraces fill with guests. And the harbor becomes a theater of sound and spectacle. The Monaco Grand Prix is not just the most difficult course in Formula 1—it’s the most cinematic, with its tight corners, hillside climbs, and close proximity to the sea. From the grandstands to the waterline, it’s an atmosphere unlike anything else in motorsport.

Over race weekend, the Monaco Yacht Club welcomed its members to the rooftop lounge—one of the most coveted viewing terraces in the principality. This year, Summit was proud to furnish the space, contributing to an environment defined by both comfort and distinction. The club featured Summit’s iconic Sundeck Folding Director’s Chairs and expansive corner units from the Summit Modular Collection, creating a setting that balanced design with the ease of open-air luxury.

“This event connected us with people who already live with our furniture—and introduced us to others who appreciate the same values,” said Emmanuele Cattani, Summit’s European and UK Director. “It felt natural to be there—part of the setting, part of the experience.” Many of the yachts in port already feature Summit furnishings, and the brand’s presence at the club served as a natural extension of that ongoing relationship. “We’re proud to be known for quality, reliability, and design,” Cattani added. “And when we’re working with a partner like the Yacht Club, those values are shared.”

Summit’s proximity—just minutes from the harbor—allowed for seamless coordination with the club. Furniture was selected to meet both the functional needs of the event and the timeless aesthetic the Yacht Club is known for. “These pieces aren’t just beautiful,” said Cattani. “They offer real comfort, they’re crafted from sustainably forested teak, and they hold up in the most demanding environments.”

Throughout the weekend, the rooftop remained a composed vantage point above the energy of the race—designed for ease, conversation, and a certain kind of understated luxury.

As the track cleared and race day turned to evening, what remained was a setting defined by purpose, perspective, and design that endures.
